You've been there eight years - wow! Congrats to that - nowadays job hopping is popular, and I've heard of people who on changes jobs every two years even if they like their current job.

With all your experience, you undoubtedly have a lot of transferable skills that will be useful in any job. Since you are still young, now is a great time for soul searching. What is it about your current job that you like the most? Maybe you could find a job where that is your primary responsibility.  or better yet, what is the most fun thing you've ever done? That might be what your ideal career goal is - for example, for me, my most favorite thing that I did was when I was editor in chief for my high school's literary magazine. My career goal is to be in magazine editorial.

"What color is your parachute" is a very popular book, but one that I like even more is called "I could do anything if I only knew what is was" (no joke, that's the title). These are some great resources to help you figure out what your next step is going to be.
